|Portia Badham is a former journalist, communications and public relations professional with more than 30 years of experience that she brings to her position as Senior Vice President for Marketing & Communications at the 4A's. In her role, she provides strategic oversight and management for all of the 4A's communications to promote its services that benefit member agencies. Specifically this includes content for all Web properties; social media; e-marketing for the various 4A's conferences, events, and initiatives; publishing; creative services and branding; as well as media relations. |
In addition, she serves as staff liaison for the Agency Communications and Client Public Relations committees that address industry issues of importance to advertising communications professionals. In 2012, she managed the production of the 4A's PR Conference, the first one held since 2005 for advertising communications professionals.
Badham, who joined the 4A's in June, 2010, most recently was president of BadWyn Communications, a public relations and event management agency she founded in 1999. Her client roster included a broad range of cable and healthcare clients. Her prior corporate positions include Vice President, Public Affairs for the national cable television network in New York, the Odyssey Channel; Associate Director, Public Affairs for Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC and Director of Public Relations for Liberty Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. She's also worked was as a print reporter and on-air newscaster and news writer in the Baltimore-Washington, DC area.
She is a graduate of Towson University and Fashion Institute of Technology where she majored in Advertising and Communications. Badham has served on the Board of Directors for the Association of Cable Communicators (ACC) and Plays for Living educational theatre. She has been a longtime volunteer at the Lighthouse International, a service facility for the visually impaired in New York.
