REPORTS TO: Director of Interactive Design
POSITION SUMMARY: The Digital Designer is responsible for art concepts in the production of Web sites, working within the Creative team or as a part of an Art Design team with other Digital Designers and Copywriters, when appropriate.
Understands overall how a Web site comes together and understands the challenging and ever-changing Internet.
Has a basic understanding of HTML programming as it relates to design.
Designs Web sites according to strategic plans provided by the Creative Director, Director of Interactive Design and Account Executive.
Works with other Digital Designers, Art Directors, Copywriters and designated “team” personnel in production of creative materials.
Helps establish and maintain quality and award-winning work that goes beyond design and cuts through to brand image and identity.
Strives to meet assigned deadlines. Alerts Creative Director and Director of Interactive Design if deadlines cannot be met for any reason, or if an extension is required.
Works with Production Artists, providing complete input and any instruction and supervision required to smoothly complete production of approved design. Provides all required specifications.
Reviews all production materials on assigned projects and signs off prior to forwarding jobs for approval.
Meets with Account Executives, as required, to ensure timely and accurate completion of assigned projects.
Keeps Creative Director/ Director of Interactive Design informed of need to upgrade design-related computer hardware-software.
Has working knowledge of computer design software and hardware and strives to stay current in level of knowledge and abilities.
