Job Title: Broadcast/Talent Payment Manager
Department: Production
Reports To: Director of Production 


Aids in the negotiation of costs and facilitate administrative execution, cost control and talent payments for all TV and radio productions produced and aired by


• Estimates TV production, radio production jobs and talent reuse jobs
• Controls and approve costs of all production, post-production, music and talent session costs
• Works with Account for formal cost reporting and cost approval
• Works with Account to prepare quarterly estimates for talent reuse
• Works with Broadcast Traffic to obtain flight scheduling in order to pay talent fees for all spots currently airing
• Tracks all active spots to insure that talent holding fees are authorized and paid on time ensures that “maximum use periods” are known and anticipated
• Grants final approval and closure of all production and talent reuse jobs
• Manages the day to day workflow
• Manages junior members of the team
• Enforces adherence to quality standards for the team as set forth by the department head
• Fosters innovative solutions
• Identifies short term and long term opportunities
• Manages training and development for all junior team members
• Works closely with upper management to identify and suggest solutions on how to improve departmental and team morale
• Keeps abreast of current trends and the latest technological advances
• Aggressively pursue new ways to contribute to overall agency and client profitability.
• Works with department head to set junior team member's goals
• Helps to elevate department's role in the whole advertising process


• Negotiates talent reuse contracts
• Creates TV/Radio estimates
• Participates in weekly departmental staff meetings
• Attends interdepartmental briefings
• Keeps supervisor apprised of the status of work


• Experience in motion picture production company set operations, office administration, and post production operations. Must have thorough knowledge of costs and budgeting
• Experience in advertising agency broadcast administration, including; production, post production and music negotiations. Scale, overscale, and celebrity talent negotiations
• Experience in talent payroll administration and talent contract interpretation
• Must have seven years of experience
• Must have strong interpersonal skills to foster optimal department relationships
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Computer literate
• Team builder
• Strong problem solving skills and detail oriented
• Minimum of a Bachelors degree or equivalent business experience preferred
