Archer Malmo Growth Continues

Memphis, TN – February 4, 2015 – Archer Malmo, the leading integrated marketing communications agency in the Mid-South, today announced 10 recent new hires. They include Samantha Blake and Dianna Davis to the account service team; Ben Colar, Megan Schmitt and Barry Wolverton to creative; Jeff Janovetz, Madeline Otto and Jonah Westbrook to digital; Cheryl Mathis to accounting; and Lisa Hawkins to media. “2014 was a banner year for growth at the agency with more than 40 hires across agency disciplines and our second spot on the Inc. 5000. We were also named to Ad Age‘s Best Places to Work and the Agency Post’s Top Agencies for Startups,” said Russ Williams, CEO of Archer Malmo.

“In 2015, we will continue to focus on attracting strong marketing, creative and technology talent to the agency to serve our clients locally and across the country.” New hires include:

Samantha Blake joins the agency as an account coordinator on the Valent account. Blake was previously a brand strategy specialist contractor with ALSAC/St. Jude in the merchandising and gift planning department.

Ben Colar is a new associate creative director and art director for the agency. He previously served as an associate creative director at Red Deluxe, where his clients included the Memphis Grizzlies, the Red Cross and the American Lung Association, among others.

Dianna Davis also joins the agency’s Valent team as an account supervisor. Davis has served as a marketing communications manager for DuPont Crop Protection since 2005, leading strategic planning, development and implementation of both regional and national marketing communication campaigns. In her new role, Davis will help lead the specialty business team for Valent.

Lisa Hawkins was hired as a media assistant and will help guide the administrative processes in the agency’s media buying department. Hawkins joins the team from Red Deluxe, where she has worked for the past 10 years. Hawkins has more than 16 years of media buying and agency experience and will provide support to the agency’s roster of media buying clients.

Jeff Janovetz previously worked as an interactive project manager for Propane Media, where he helped develop digital strategies, administered email campaigns, and shared key milestones with both corporate and retail clients. He will continue in this capacity at Archer Malmo, and will be leading digital strategies for the several of the agency’s key agricultural and animal health clients.

Cheryl Mathis is rejoining the agency after serving in several other capacities installing and training accounting software. Most recently, she worked at St. Francis Hospital in medical records. Mathis started her career at Ward Archer & Associates (now Archer Malmo) as an assistant controller. In her new role, she is acting as a production billing specialist in the agency’s accounting department.

Madeline Otto joins the agency’s digital team as a social media specialist. Prior, she served as an event coordinator for the Emerson College Dance Company and worked as an intern for the Boston Ballet and Broadway in Boston. She will work on social media activities for the agency’s Planet Tan, Norfolk Southern and Massage Envy accounts.

 Megan Schmitt is a new proofreader for the agency. She previously served as administrative assistant, project coordinator and, most recently, human resources specialist for Pickering, Inc., a full-service engineering and architectural design firm in Memphis.

Jonah Westbrook joins the agency as a new digital quality assurance analyst. He previously worked as a freelance creative specialist designing logos, album art and promotional materials for several local musicians. In his new role, he will be working closely with the agency’s digital quality assurance team on website launches and email deployments.

Barry Wolverton is also rejoining the agency as a brand content manager, a newly-created role in which he will be managing development and content creation for the new Grizzly website. Wolverton has written adventure/fantasy children’s novels for Walden Pond Press, an imprint of HarperCollins, for the past four years. Additionally, he has developed content for the Discovery Channel, the Travel Channel and, most recently, for Baptist Memorial Health Care in Memphis. Wolverton started his career as a writer at Archer Malmo in 1990.

Several agency staffers have also recently been promoted:
Nicole Brodie and Ashley McMillan were promoted to account executive from account manager; Terri Harris to account supervisor from account executive; Logan Nickleson to digital content strategist from digital marketing specialist; Joel Gulledge to quality assurance/email deployment manager from digital quality assurance analyst; and Russell Patton to senior email deployment specialist from junior digital developer/email deployment specialist.
