Karen Jeffers, Member Pullman & Comley LLC and founder of Jeffers Cowherd PC, along with her colleague, Russell Anderson, will delve into thorny contemporary issues, such as text message promotions, how the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) can be involved in these types of promotions, limitations imposed by the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), and conducting promotions on social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.).
The session will include discussion relating to the legal privacy issues that are raised by promotions, since many types of promotions are aimed at collecting participant data.

He represents a leading global communications firm and also has experience in many other areas of the marketing/advertising industry, including promotions and sweepstakes law compliance.
Russell has also represented numerous companies in the market research industry, and previously served as outside governmental affairs counsel to the largest trade group for market research businesses in the United States.
