New Hires Bring Archer Malmo to more than 200 Employees Eleven Employees Promoted

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (July 5, 2016)Archer Malmo, independent brand communications agency, today announced 22 recent new hires in its Memphis office. These new hires, combined with the agency’s recent acquisition of Combustion, brings Archer Malmo’s total employee count to 205 – the largest staff in the agency’s 64-year history.

The new hires span a variety of disciplines across the agency: the accounting and finance department welcomed two new hires; the digital team as well as the agency’s PR practice each gained three new members; and the creative team and the account service team each added seven new members. Additionally, eleven employees recently received promotions.

New hires include:

  • Allison Chen has joined the agency as PR coordinator. Previously, Allison interned at Baptist Memorial Healthcare Corporation.
  • Ben Christian is a new senior copywriter. He previously served in a similar capacity at ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
  • Kandi Cook was hired as a digital quality assurance analyst. She joined the agency from LHC Group, where’d served for nearly ten years, most recently as an episode auditor.
  • Brandon Corley joined the agency as senior account executive. He was previously in a similar role at Sullivan Branding.
  • Les Edwards serves as the agency’s new chief financial officer. He also serves as the Treasurer of the Indie Memphis Film Festival.
  • Katie Frasier joined the agency as senior digital marketing strategist. Prior, she was digital marketing manager for Cat5 Commerce in Chesterfield, Missouri.
  • Kate Friedel is a new proofreader. Before joining the agency, she was a client liaison at Memphis-based cocoabeens communications.
  • Lindsey Goodman joined the PR department as senior public relations specialist. She was previously a senior health sciences marketing strategist at Creighton University for the School of Nursing.
  • Shaina Guttman is a new senior account executive. She was previously a senior account manager at Contemporary Media in Memphis.
  • Lance Ingram joined as social media specialist. He was most recently the Online Content Manager for the Tupelo Convention and Visitors Bureau in Tupelo, Mississippi.
  • Janice Keene is a new account director. Prior to joining the agency, she served at McCormick Company for more than ten years.
  • Jason Lee has joined the agency as senior art director. He was previously served as an art director at Sullivan Branding.
  • Karla Mathauer is a new accounting coordinator. Prior, she was the office manager of Lanigan Worldwide Moving & Warehousing, Inc., where she oversaw both accounting and human resources operations.
  • Troy McCall has rejoined the agency as an associate creative director. He spent the last few years in Seattle where he developed his own client base as well as freelanced for local agencies.
  • Matt Musick joined as senior creative strategist. He was previously digital strategy manager at Sullivan Branding.
  • Josephina Ofiara is a new account supervisor. Prior, she served as a strategic partnerships liaison at ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
  • Lucas Peterson was hired as broadcast project manager after serving as a part-time operations assistant at the agency.
  • Cheryl Smith joined the agency as account coordinator. She was formerly a member relations coordinator at First South Financial Credit Union.
  • Lindsey Steffenhagen is a new account coordinator. She was most recently a marketing assistant at Building Plastics, Inc.
  • Emily Stoutenborough has joined as account executive. Prior, she was account manager at Woodruff Sweitzer in Columbia, Missouri.
  • Lauren Whisenant Waites is a new PR specialist. She previously worked at Hunter Fan Company in Memphis and LAK Public Relations in New York.
  • Mimi Wilfong has joined the agency as brand planner. Prior to joining, she worked at Epilson in Irving, Texas, for more than three years.

In May, Archer Malmo announced that it had acquired Memphis-based boutique creative agency Combustion. Combustion’s founder and president Billy Riley joined Archer Malmo as group creative director. Other team members include: Eric Christopherson and Leah Jones, associate creative director/art directors; Adam Shellabarger, senior designer and Katie Steed, designer. The acquisition added several clients to the Archer Malmo roster, including International Paper, Memphis College of Art, and Brother Industries, among others.

Several Archer Malmo team members have also been promoted in recent months: Sarah Baker was promoted to senior PR specialist; Aspen Blum was promoted to account executive; Emily Breuck was promoted to account executive, Rob Hoerter was promoted to vice-president/account director; Jason Jones was promoted to account manager; Emily Long was promoted to account supervisor; Wes Melton was promoted to account manager; Cary New was promoted to PR supervisor; Jennifer Pollack was promoted to senior account executive; Gokben Yamandag to was promoted to senior vice president, Digital Strategy & Planning; and Gorkem Yamandag was promoted to vice president, Digital Project Management & Production.

There are six students interning this summer: three in Memphis and three in Austin. This is the 10th year of the agency’s internship program and this summer the interns will support client and account teams and also participate in a summer internship project for Memphis-based BRIDGES a non-profit organization devoted to inspiring diverse young people to become confident and courageous leaders committed to community transformation. The project involves developing a communications recommendation to gain national attention for the Bridge Builder CHANGE program, focused on youth-led social change.
