Clarke Advertising and Public Relations has named Patricia Courtois President and Chief Operating Officer.
With 32 years of PR and marketing communications experience, Courtois is responsible for leading the agency’s PR and marketing communications team as well as overseeing the day-to-day operations of the agency.
Bill Pierson will remain Chief Executive Officer and leads the brand strategy practice for the agency as well as business development for the Denver market.
“Patricia has been actively leading and managing our Sarasota office and staff for several years now,” says Pierson. “She has also been the face and voice of Clarke Advertising and Public Relations in the Sarasota community since we bought the agency from Tim Clarke in 2005. For all of our clients, employees and longtime agency friends, this appointment is a no-brainer, and Patricia is truly deserving of this promotion and title.”
Under Courtois’ leadership, the agency’s client roster includes local, regional and national clients including ClosetMaid, Remington, Florida Prepaid College Board, EAS Sports Nutrition, Community Foundation of Sarasota County, Sarasota Orchestra, All Faiths Food Bank, Cincinnati Reds, Pineapple Square and United Way of Sarasota County.
Prior to joining Clarke Advertising and Public Relations in 1999, Courtois held marketing communications positions with Tropicana in Bradenton, FL, where she oversaw advertising, public relations and consumer promotion for Tropicana Pure Premium Orange Juice, the sixth largest grocery brand in the US. She also orchestrated its launch in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She also has worked for companies and brands including Beatrice Foods, Sara Lee, Tropicana, Sweet ’N Low, Butter Buds, Sugar in the Raw and Mary Kay.
Courtois is very active in the Sarasota community, serving on the boards of The Community Foundation of Sarasota County and Florida Studio Theatre. She serves at a national level on the American Association of Advertising Agencies (4A's) Client PR Committee; as Marketing Committee Chair for the Economic Development Corporation of Sarasota County; and on the Marketing Advisory Committee for the John and Mabel Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota. She also has served as a member of the Sarasota County Tourism and Economic Development Board. Courtois is past chair of the Leadership Council of the United Way Women’s Initiative, a former board member of the Sarasota County Arts Council, the Literacy Council of Sarasota and past president of the Sarasota Sunrise Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association.
A graduate of Northwestern University, Courtois holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Literature and Journalism.
