Capitalizing on its home furnishings heritage, and with a modern, welcoming and optimistic outlook toward the future, The High Point Convention and Visitors Bureau introduced its new brand message and graphic identity today. The logo invites meeting and event planners, businesses, artists and designers, tourists, residents—in fact, anyone and everyone who comes to High Point, NC—to “Make Yourself at Home.”
The new brand identity was created by Winston-Salem brand revitalization agency Woodbine and represents the first step in the agency’s marketing campaign to relaunch High Point as a destination for meetings, conferences, trade shows and visitors in general. The marketing campaign will include new Web site development and the creation of digital and traditional collateral, paid media, social media and public relations beginning this fall.
“We’re excited about the new identity because it builds on our reputation as the Home Furnishings Capital of the World in a contemporary way, adding personality and warmth,” said Tim Mabe, High Point CVB President and CEO. “Our invitation to ‘Make Yourself at Home’ says a lot about High Point’s inviting and inclusive spirit as well as our ability to host events, both big and small.”
Over 75,000 people descend on High Point twice a year for the International Home Furnishings Market. The city also boasts a convenient geographic location, a host of tourist attractions and a rich history. It’s an easy city to navigate, and it has all the amenities for a multi-day visit or meeting, including lodging and ample restaurant choices. High Point has a great story to tell and hired Woodbine in May, 2012 to begin telling it.
“This represents the dawn of a new era for High Point,” said Peter Mitchell, Woodbine President and CEO. “Through our research and engagement with the community we have learned a lot about the city’s creativity, diversity, energy and hospitality. It really is a place where meeting planners, tourists, businesses and residents can all make themselves at home.”
