Atlanta, GA, October 16, 2012 – BBDO Atlanta announced today that Rich Santiago has joined the agency as SVP, Director of Behavioral Planning. He was most recently Director of Global Insights & Innovation at Brand USA in Washington, D.C., a dedicated group formed in 2011 to promote travel to the U.S. In his new role, Mr. Santiago will report to Gill Duff, President & CEO of BBDO Atlanta, and be responsible for heading up the agency’s planning group.

Mr. Santiago has an extensive background in planning with over 12 years of experience in the field. He began his career as a Planner for Leo Burnett, before taking on roles at GSD&M Idea City, Arnold Worldwide and Mullen Unbound. He was also the Founder and Chief Instigator of his own consultancy, The Artful Monkey. Clients he has worked with include McDonald’s, Google, CVS, Chili’s, Barnes & Noble, Krispy Kreme, Altoids, Southwest Airlines, Nickelodeon and Coors Brewing, to name a few. He has served as a judge for the Jay Chiat Awards and, while at Mullen, helped the agency earn recognition as one of Fast Company’s “Most Innovative Companies of the Year” in 2010. He is a Carnegie Mellon Fellow and a graduate of Oberlin College.

Mr. Santiago is the latest addition to the agency’s senior management team that has been assembled by Mr. Duff since he was named President &CEO earlier this year. Other recent additions include Executive Creative Directors Heather Gorman, Cabot Norton and Jeff Spillane. Rich will join BBDO Atlanta this week.
