The practice is the first dedicated health and wellness consulting unit empowering marketers to take action against global health and wellness challenges through solutions that lead to quantifiable results. Scout Sports and Entertainment adds the wellness entity to its existing sports, entertainment and experiential offering. The unit will be led by newly appointed Managing Director, Rich Abend, an eleven year veteran and pioneer of health, wellness and active-lifestyle marketing. Abend will report to Michael A. Neuman, Managing Partner of Scout Sports and Entertainment.

Abend is a twenty year veteran of sports, health, fitness and wellness, with a strong track record in business development, sales, consulting, media, technology and sponsorship. He joins Horizon Media from The Active Network where he was VP of Integrated Sales, most recently responsible for launching a workplace wellness platform and leading development on partnerships in the healthcare space for clients including Starbucks, Disney and Best Buy. He was also acutely involved in creating the first-ever direct to consumer platform with Aetna Healthcare, to help consumers become more physically active through a social community that brings virtual health and fitness resources directly to employees to participate in real-life local events and activities.
