Planet Fitness Names Draftfcb Chicago as its Social & Digital Marketing Agency of Record 

Newington, N.H., Nov. 14, 2013 – Planet Fitness, the innovative health club franchise known for its Judgement Free Zone® and affordable prices, named Draftfcb Chicago its digital and social marketing agency of record, effective immediately following an RFP that narrowed down to three agencies.

“Throughout this process, Draftfcb demonstrated strong social media and digital marketing experience, and the ability to adapt to the consumer’s ever changing behavior online.  They have a true understanding of our brand and what makes us unique,” said Mike O’Brien, director of brand management for Planet Fitness.  “We’re confident that this partnership will take our digital presence to the next level and bring a fresh approach to our social marketing channels.” 

With approximately 700 locations around the country and growing, Planet Fitness is focused on enabling members to relax, get in shape and have fun without being subjected to the hard-core attitudes that may exist in other gyms.

Philadelphia-based Red Tettemer O’Connell + Partners will continue as lead AOR handling overall brand strategy, creative and media for Planet Fitness, a role it assumed in June 2012.

New York City-based RF|Binder assumed the role of public relations agency of record as of July 2013.
