RP3 Agency Receives Certification As a Women-Owned Small Business 

BETHESDA, Md. January 28, 2013–RP3 Agency, the independent, full-service marketing communications agency, is now certified as a Women-Owned Small Business, RP3 president Beth Johnson announced today.

The new status broadens the D.C. area agency's new business opportunities by enabling the company to pursue federal contracts set aside for eligible Women-Owned Small Businesses (WOSB). RP3 can now compete within a pool of applicants to secure these contracts.

Based in Bethesda, Maryland, RP3 received certification from the U.S. Women's Chamber of Commerce, one of four organizations approved by the U.S. Small Business Administration to act as third-party certifiers.

"We chose the U.S. Women's Chamber of Commerce based on its reputation to support the needs of small women-owned businesses applying for this certificate," said Ms. Johnson. "The Chamber, whose purposes is to serve small businesses like ours, was incredibly helpful throughout the process. We are pleased and proud to have achieved this status."

As part of the certification process, a business must provide proof of the following: at least fifty-one percent ownership by a woman or women; effective management and control of the business; documented evidence of contribution of capital and/or expertise; and U.S. Citizenship or Legal Resident Alien status.

RP3 applied on September 9, 2012 and on November 29, 2012, the U.S. Women's Chamber of Commerce recognized the agency as a WOSB.
