Starcom MediaVest Group Appoints Matt Kain, EVP, Global Network Client Operations 

NEW YORK – January 13, 2014 – Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG) today announced that Matt Kain has joined its Global Network Client practice as EVP, Global Network Client Operations, effective immediately.  Kain will be based in SMG’s Chicago office and will report to John Sheehy, President, Global Operations. Through internal and external evangelism, consultation, mentorship and sales partnership, he will drive increased adoption of digital, data analytics and content solutions for SMG's Global Network Clients.

SMG’s clients are many of the world’s largest and best brands including Procter & Gamble, Samsung, Kraft, The Coca-Cola Company, UBS and others. Recently, SMG led the consolidation of prestigious Honda, Heineken and Novartis assignments globally, adding more than 2 Billion Euros in billings.

Kain is an accomplished executive with 15 years domestic and international management experience in the online marketing space. Throughout his career, he has held leadership roles in operations, strategy, sales, and marketing functions within both start-up and growth organizations.  Kain is an acknowledged thought leader and industry expert in the field of Search Marketing; he’s a regular conference speaker, interview source for the investment community and journalists in the space, and a published author of several bylines and whitepapers.

Kain joins SMG from The Search Agency in Sydney Australia, where he was CEO-Asia Pacific.  Among his key achievements at The Search Agency, he incorporated the Australian subsidiary entity as the regional center for expansion into Asia, established a Sydney office and established a Tokyo office to assist in closing new enterprise relationships in Japan.  Prior to The Search Agency, Kain was Managing Partner, Managing Director at Mindshare Search in New York, the search marketing resource of MindShare and a division of GroupM Search. Previously in his career, he held similar roles at 24/7 Real Media in New York and Decide Interactive in Sydney.
