Campbell Mithun hires David Carter as chief creative officer and bolsters creative offering 

MINNEAPOLIS (January 21, 2014) – Campbell Mithun has named industry veteran David Carter as chief creative officer as it invests in cross-platform creative talent to accelerate growth in 2014. Carter brings to the creative leadership post a proven record of creating immersive content for iconic brands, most recently at BBDO New York.

“David’s body of work over the years is testament to his belief in platform creativity—drawing upon data, technology and emerging media to deliver brand stories,” said Rob Buchner, chief executive officer at Campbell Mithun. “We see a lot of blue sky in creative sciences and David will help us realize our ambitions.”

One of the most highly awarded creatives working today, Carter co-created two of the One Show’s Top Ten Campaigns of the decade with BMW Films and HBO Voyeur.  He’s widely known for his abilities to approach brand problems from a consumer-centric mindset and to help companies navigate the ever-changing mediascape.  He has served clients including Amazon, BMW, Starbucks, AT&T, HBO, Chrysler, Jeep, Pepsi and Glenlivet Whisky.

Carter reported for duty at Campbell Mithun on January 21st and represents the agency’s latest investment in talent since Rob Buchner took the helm in mid-2013.  In recent months the agency also promoted Steve Arndt to COO and added analytics, digital and social media staff and hired Denis Budniewski as director of account leadership and growth.
