Attracting and selecting top talent is a major issue for every agency today, and the art of interviewing is a crucial part of the process. The cost of a bad hire is high, and it is critical that an agency is able to accurately assess whether a candidate can do the job and fit into the organization.
Interviewing is an acquired skill, and this guide is designed to help everyone improve their interviewing technique. This booklet reviews the many aspects of an effective interview from preparation to artful questioning to follow up. Sample questions are offered to help you assess the skills, thinking and attitude of the candidate (in addition there is an Appendix of sample questions for different interviewing contexts). The legal pitfalls of interviewing are also discussed with a list of questions you can and can not ask.
