MediaCom Names Chris Pyne Chief Strategy Officer

mediacomMediaCom announced today that Chris Pyne will join the US executive team in the newly created position of Managing Partner, Chief Client Strategy Officer. Pyne comes to MediaCom from Optimedia where he was SVP, Head of Planning, New York. He will report to Euan Jarvie, Chief Operating Officer, MediaCom US.

In this new role, Pyne will provide strategic leadership across account teams to better understand and connect the agency’s work with the overall business strategies of its clients, and to direct MediaCom’s thinking for the future. He will also help to align resources, develop key talent, facilitate communication between client teams and sustain exceptional, consistent standards in client work.

“Chris will work with our account team leaders to develop a stronger and wider impact in the world of our clients, and ultimately to develop more opportunities for MediaCom to add value to our clients by better aligning our offering to their overarching business strategies,” said Doug Checkeris, CEO MediaCom North America.

Prior to joining MediaCom, Pyne oversaw all client planning teams in New York, and led the agency’s business development efforts nationwide. Pyne also played a key role in developing the company’s open planning process, a consumer-led approach to integrated communication planning and buying. Before joining Optimedia’s New York operation in 2006, Chris was group planning director for P&G at ZenithOptimedia London.

Pyne’s work on behalf of clients including P&G has received numerous industry honors, including the P&G Media Award, and awards from Campaign Magazine and Media Week in the U.K. He is an honors graduate of King’s College London.
