Mullen Promotes Dave Weist and Tim Vaccarino to Executive Creative Directors

Duo has Led Award-Winning, Business-Building Creative Efforts for Agency’s JetBlue and Barnes & Noble NOOK Clients

mullenMullen announced today that Dave Weist and Tim Vaccarino, the creative pair that has guided the agency’s most successful work for JetBlue and Barnes & Noble NOOK, have been promoted to Executive Creative Directors in the Boston headquarters office. Weist and Vaccarino first joined Mullen in early 2010, and were instrumental in winning JetBlue and developing the brand’s You Above All campaign, as well as winning the Barnes & Noble NOOK account and creating the Read Forever brand campaign. The two jointly created an American Forces Network Super Bowl spot for the Federal Voting Assistance Program. Vaccarino individually has overseen recent Mullen creative efforts for Zappos.

“With Tim and Dave, it’s always been about making Mullen better, not making themselves better,” said Mark Wenneker, Chief Creative Officer at Mullen. “They’ve won accounts, won awards and won the hearts and the respect of all of us. Good things come to good people, but great things only come to a few. And it only seems right to recognize their contributions in a huge way at this point.”

Weist and Vaccarino came to Mullen from Modernista! and previously Arnold Worldwide, where their credits included iconic work for Volkswagen, Cadillac, Hummer and Palm. Vaccarino has won the Cannes Grand Prix, One Show, Andy’s, Art Directors Club, CA, Clio’s and he has a half dozen AICP-awarded productions in the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Weist has won the Cannes Grand Prix, two grand MPA Kelly Awards, D&AD, AICP, One Show, Canada, and multiple Effie Awards.

“We have a very talented group of people here at Mullen,” said Vaccarino. “We value the team approach with creative, media, design, social, public relations, planning and account service all working together to reach one goal. The rooms get a little hot and crowded sometimes, but it’s for a good cause.”

“Mullen has done an incredible job in terms of assembling the right talent,” said Weist. “What’s even better is there are no big egos here. Everyone just rolls up their sleeves and solves the problem.”
