BikeNWA Names Walrus AOR, Charged With Branding the Oz Trails

October 1, 2018 – BikeNWA, the leading advocate for biking in Northwest Arkansas dedicated to encouraging cycling for recreation and/or transportation to help foster an active and healthy lifestyle for the community, has named independent creative and media agency, Walrus. Under the partnership, Walrus will handle all strategy, creative and media duties for BikeNWA.

A grantee of the Walton Family Foundation, BikeNWA, has been working to educate and inspire the Northwest Arkansas community to support planning, funding, and construction of a world-class network of bicycle infrastructure for all ages and abilities. Most recently, the organization has focused on drawing attention to a series of singletrack trails known as Oz Trails, made up of over 250 miles of purpose-built mountain bike trails running throughout Northwest Arkansas’s Ozark Mountains.

Out of the gate, BikeNWA will look to Walrus to establish Oz Trails as one of the country’s premier destinations for mountain biking and outdoor enthusiasts seeking adventure and inspiration. Walrus will kick off with the development of a complete brand identity and positioning for Oz Trails, followed by the launch of Oz Trails’ first-ever consumer marketing campaign, set to roll out this winter.

“Northwest Arkansas is undergoing a significant transformation, and Oz Trails are a cornerstone of that revitalization, the thing that makes this part of the country a compelling place to visit and even relocate to,” said Brendan Quirk, Board President of BikeNWA. “We were looking for an agency that could fully appreciate the totality of what’s happening here and I have been impressed with how quickly Walrus has gotten up to speed on this effort.”

“We jumped at the opportunity to contribute to the amazing things that are happening in Northwest Arkansas, specifically, Oz Trails,” said Walrus CEO, Frances Webster. “It is an understatement to say that these trails are incredible and Walrus looks forward to continuing to build the BikeNWA brand.”
