Camp + King Recognized in OUTSIDE’S Best Places to Work 2018

Advertising agency Camp + King has been selected as one of OUTSIDE’s Best Places to Work 2018. Winning companies provide great workplaces for employees and encourage a balance between work and enjoying life in the great outdoors, while also respecting the environment.

“As proud as we are of the work we create for our clients, we’re equally as proud of our people and the culture we’ve all created; it’s great to have it validated by Outside” said Jamie King, one of the founders of Camp + King.

Nestled inside San Francisco’s Presidio, a sprawling national park at the base of the Golden Gate Bridge and formerly a military base, Camp + King’s office setting gives workers a chance to create in an environment that is also well-suited for, well, getting outside.

“Companies from across the country entered a rigorous two-part survey process to make the winning list,” said Abigail Wise, online managing editor, OUTSIDE. “Employees took part in a survey to measure personal experience, while The Best Companies Group evaluated each company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics.”

The winning companies are those that value productivity in combination with an active, eco-conscious lifestyle, for a fulfilling experience inside and outside the office. This is OUTSIDE’s eleventh year providing the Best Places to Work.

Camp + King’s clients include Energizer, RE/MAX, Prana and Nature’s Path, one of the world’s largest organic brands. Its 2017 “Do Nothing” campaign for client UGG® featuring Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady and Academy Award winner Jeff Bridges was awarded two Clios and Communication Arts Integrated Campaign honors. Camp + King also received the Gold award for Ad Age’s Small Agency of the Year 2017 (employees 11-75). In the summer of 2017, the agency opened a second office in the Second City, Chicago, to service its Midwestern and East Coast clients. And last fall, the San Francisco HQ took on an additional 5,000-square-feet to build a full editorial suite, photography studio and Content Lab in-house production unit.

Camp + King is known for its commitment to women and minorities, and it continues to outpace the industry with an employee base comprised of 61% women and 22% minorities. The shop also has a high ratio of females in leadership positions: 56% of Camp + King directors and four of its six junior partners are women.
