San Ramon, Calif. (October 21, 2020) — inZa Lab, a Gen Z talent program created by Creative Digital Agency (CDA), today announced the release of its 2020 Gen Z Consumer Insights Report: How Gen Z Confronts Uncertainty. The report provides an in-depth look at how Generation Z (born between 1996-2010) has changed amidst the political, environmental, economic, and social turmoil of the past year.
The report uses first-hand survey data to examine Gen Zers’ stance on technology and data privacy, advertising preferences, spending habits, and future plans regarding their professional and personal lives.
Key findings include:
Gen Z uses news apps. Over 80% of Gen Zers access their news primarily through mobile news apps, an overwhelming increase from last year’s 19.9%.
Gen Z is unhappy with the direction the country is headed. A staggering majority of Gen Zers are “dissatisfied” or “extremely dissatisfied” with the direction the country is taking in terms of politics, the environment, social issues, and the economy.
Gen Z values privacy. 70% believe companies should not be allowed to sell their data to advertisers, and 56% believe their online data will be used in a harmful manner.
Gen Z values music more than social media. 86.9% of Gen Zers would rather give up social media when asked to choose between music and social media.
2020 Gen Z Consumer Insights Report is now available as a free resource on Creative Digital Agency’s website.

About inZa Lab
Emerging cultural differences, stemming from rapid technological changes, make it difficult for advertisers and marketers to keep up with the trends of younger consumers. Creative Digital Agency created inZa Lab to keep up with these rapid changes. The name comes from Korean slang for “insider, ” someone who is plugged into the cultural zeitgeist and what’s trending.
Led by Insider Trends Officers themselves, Generation Z interns are recruited to advise and collect first-hand insights into the brand and media consumption habits of their peers, inZa Lab.
