Decoding the Digital Girl

The Girl Scout Research Institute surveyed girls, ages 5-17, to learn about their digital experiences and use of technologies. Topics include:

  • Types of devices used
  • Types of online activities girls engage with
  • Interest in STEM and tech-focused careers
  • Parental role in building digital skills.

The report also compares the digital expertise and media habits of girls to boys in the same age range, as well the tech gap between lower-income and higher-income households.
