2018 Chicago Institute of Advanced Advertising Studies

Chicago 4A’s IAAS Registration Now Underway
Registration closes March 26th

Registration is now underway for the Chicago 4A’s Institute of Advanced Advertising Studies (IAAS). Launched in Chicago almost 50 years ago, with alumni in top management positions in Chicago and other premiere advertising cities, the IAAS has a proven ROI for training your rising stars to elevate their contributions to solve real world challenges with a real client.

The program starts April 5th and runs through June 14th. Space is limited to 40 young professionals. Don’t delay in registering your rising stars in any discipline, particularly your young creative people.

Our Client Partner is PepsiCo Quaker
We’re pleased that Jessica Spaulding, Quaker Pepsi Co Head of Marketing Strategy & Creative, North America Nutrition, and her team will again be our client partner. Their challenge to IAAS teams will be to introduce a new Quaker nutritional product and, in the process, strengthen the iconic Quaker Oats brand.

Your Young Professionals Will Form Teams to Win Their Business
Cross discipline teams of young professionals from your agency and other Chicago’s 4A’s member agencies will work together to win the client’s business. The program is set up to mirror a classic agency new business effort. Our client will brief teams, provide brand and consumer data (NDAs must be signed by all participants), meet with teams in strategic work sessions, and evaluate final presentations.

Weekly Sessions with Client, NU Professors and Senior Agency Leaders
Weekly sessions will be held at Northwestern University’s Medill IMC downtown Chicago campus, PepsiCo Quaker, and at host agencies. Senior agency leaders across disciplines will be recruited as volunteers to be part of the IAAS faculty and play key roles in teaching and mentoring participants.

Areas of learning include:

  • Understanding Your Client’s Business and Needs
  • Consumer Research and Understanding
  • Strategic and Account Planning
  • Integrated Marketing Strategy Development
  • Idea Generation
  • Consumer Engagement Planning
  • Creative Development
  • Digital, Social, Mobile, and Experiential Planning and Execution
  • Persuasive Storytelling
  • Presentation Training

Forty Young Professionals, Five Teams, Senior Agency Instructors
Forty of Chicago’s best young professionals will form five teams to compete to win Quaker’s business. They’ll follow a 10-week curriculum that parallels key steps in a new business pitch, running from April 5th through June 14. Teams meet every week at host agencies or Medill’s Chicago campus to learn and develop ideas. Final team presentations will be June 14th, immediately followed by announcement of the winning team and a celebration of success.

Senior agency leaders will instruct and advise, along with Northwestern University Medill IMC professors. Our client will be involved throughout.
