Jim joined 4A’s in March, 2016 as SVP, Controller stabilizing and modernizing the Company’s accounting, audit, reporting, processes and internal control environment. He was promoted to EVP, Finance & Treasurer in April, 2019.
Currently Jim oversees the financial operations, planning, accounting, treasury management and tax strategy functions for 4A’s, and their subsidiaries including 4A’s Foundation, the Company’s charitable organization.
His career began in public accounting with Ernst & Young and has included time in various industries with publicly held and privately owned enterprises. Early in his career Jim worked with Ogilvy & Mather in the NY Agency and then various Ogilvy subsidiaries. He managed financial operations for a dozen offices and teams across North and Latin America for Reuters Media, oversaw finance and order regulation operations for Time Inc.’s newsstand publishing distribution business in NY and Tampa, Florida.
Jim started the corporate planning function for Winstar Communications, a fixed wireless telecommunications provider and was tasked with selection and execution of offshoring the Hachette Filipacchi Media’s (now Hearst) finance function. As senior financial executive at Barnes & Noble.com, Jim was hired to establish the financial footprint for BN’s expansion of its digital e-commerce, software and hardware reading device businesses, recruiting teams and establishing financial and operating processes across the US, and Luxembourg and Shanghai for its international operations. He was also part of the core group hired by Novitex Enterprise Solutions after its acquisition of the professional services arm of Pitney Bowes to stand up its national finance function.
Jim is dedicated to working with 4A’s executive team and entire organization to support the Company’s membership and drive the industry forward meeting its many challenges.
He’s an Accounting undergraduate of New York University, and holds an MBA from Manhattan College. Jim lives in Westchester, NY and is married to wife Denise. They have 3 daughters, Lindsay, Samantha (also in the advertising business) and Patrice.
