Industry Veterans Earn VP Roles for Outstanding Contributions to Agency

Desiree Bartoe, Mark DiPietro and Beth Thompson Continue Going Above and Beyond for Clients

Pittsburgh – April 5, 2018 – Gatesman, one of the fastest-growing, mid-sized, privately owned marketing communications agencies, has promoted Desiree Bartoe and Beth Thompson to VP, group account directors on the public relations and social media team, and Mark DiPietro to VP, creative director. Their ongoing efforts to keep the agency’s clients on the cutting edge of the industry have resulted in consistent growth, buzzworthy campaigns and powerful results.

“Desiree, Mark and Beth are incredible talents and are the caliber of people everyone wants to work with because they make those around them better,” said Shannon Baker, president, Gatesman. “They each have a history of success, they are strong collaborators and they understand the modern creative landscape. They bring passion, energy and enthusiasm every day and exemplify what we look for in talent. It’s a thrill to see them advance and take on new responsibilities and roles within our agency.”

Bartoe, who recently celebrated her fourth year with the agency, has demonstrated consistent professional growth since her days as a senior account executive. Her leadership on client StarKist® resulted in tremendous agency growth in 2017, all as she delivered strong results for several agency accounts including Ebb Therapeutics, the National Inventors Hall of Fame and SHOP ‘n SAVE. Bartoe has also played a crucial role in a number of new business wins in addition to mentoring junior staff members.

DiPietro joined Gatesman as an associate creative director in 2015 and was quickly recognized as a talented writer and big thinker. His passion for storytelling has allowed him to walk in the shoes of brew masters, drag racers, cardiothoracic surgeons, utility officers, Navy SEALs and corrections officers, all in an effort to inspire others to dive into a brand headfirst. He continues to shape the voices of some of the agency’s largest accounts, including Northwell Health, Duquesne Light Company and S&T Bank and has earned some of the industry’s top accolades.

Thompson, who is approaching a decade with the company, has seen the PR team grow from two people to one of the most respected, privately held PR and social media practices in the country. Her expertise in the fields of technology and innovation, issues management and crisis communications have been critical to client success and new business wins. She has been more than a consistent face on a number agency accounts, including Duquesne Light Company, National Inventors Hall of Fame, CNX and S&T Bank, providing excellent leadership and consistently over-delivering.

“This trio is the embodiment of our ‘good enough sucks,’ culture,” said John Gatesman, CEO, Gatesman. “No matter what hurdle they face, they find a way to get past it and succeed for our clients. That kind of leadership and thinking is contagious; it elevates everyone at this agency to work harder and produce stronger results.”
