This leader will support the EVP, Media Tech & Data and contribute to the delivery of thought leadership, strategic and tactical support to media activities, media industry advocacy, and cultivation of the media, tech & data communities through 4A’s committee-based activities.

The ideal candidate will have strategic senior level media planning and/or buying experience across all channels. Importantly, the right candidate will have a progressive and curious approach and experience with the continuous platform expansion of media, a strong facility for data analytics and data processes, and strong familiarity with research and validation methods. Position Responsibilities:

Member Consultancy:

  • Ensure timely response to member agencies on all media-related matters
  • Provide guidance and advocacy to member agencies for all media subjects and topics

4A’s Media Community:

  • Assist in managing the direction, work, and output of media, tech & data committees – quarterly meetings, initiatives, and overall coordination
  • Identify goals and projects for 4A’s Committees (including securing speakers) and create 4A’s POVs as needed partnering with committee chairs focused on industry needs
  • Lead the Mid-Sized Agency Media Directors Committee (MSAMDC) supporting independent agencies and their needs while ensuring relevant information is communicated on a timely basis
  • Deliver individual consulting and information interchanges/surveys to member agencies on media-related matters across channels, capabilities and best practices
  • Content development/writing for whitepapers, member bulletins, and newsletters

Coordinate Partnership with other 4A’s Practice Areas:

  • Partner with the MarComms team on marketing needs as well as media, tech & data industry and educational events
  • Support marketing logistics for media, tech & data topics, including relevant website updates
  • Support Member Engagement & Development (MED) team as needed in identifying potential new members
  • Support MarComms team in identifying event sponsors and partner members as well as creating value for existing partner members
  • Support Professional & Organizational Development team in developing training content and evaluating content providers related to media, tech & data

Thought Leadership:

  • Support the Media, Tech & Data practice in the development and distribution of key thought leadership initiatives
  • Identify opportunities for the 4A’s to provide guidance and perspective for agencies and the industry on relevant and newsworthy topics
  • Develop and manage Media, Tech & Data industry educational needs (e.g. platform updates, industry announcements and implications)
  • Aid in the development and programming needs of key events including summits and webinars

Industry Partnerships:

  • Engage and support EVP, Media, Tech & Data with industry advocacy efforts, POV’s, and collaborative initiatives with industry trade partners including ANA and IAB as well as ARF, CIMM, MRC and OAAA
  • Manage partner relationships with key platforms including support for the mid-sized agency media community
  • Support 4A’s efforts to shape the necessary conversations around vital industry topics

Qualifications & Position Requirements:

  • 15+ years of experience including senior roles at an agency
  • Deep knowledge as well as heightened interest, passion, and curiosity of the advertising/marketing industry
  • Experience in working with data and analytical techniques and digital operations protocols
  • Well versed and understands how to assess the most critical industry opportunities and challenges within media, tech & data
  • Knowledge and skills related to media measurement and performance metrics
  • Natural ability to initiate partnerships and collaborate within the 4A’s, member agencies and industry organizations
  • Ability to be accountable to deliverables and established performance KPIs
  • Strong communication skills including written and presentation skills
  • Exceptional management and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills; an ability to multi-task and solve problems
  • Comfortable working both independently and within a team
