VML Foundation Surpasses $2 Million Mark in Giving

The VML Foundation, created in 2005 as an employee-funded and employee-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has surpassed $2 million in giving to charitable organizations. In its 13 years, the Foundation has supported more than 800 organizations including Head for the Cure, the American Cancer Society, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society JDRF and Children’s Mercy Hospital.

More than 60% of all U.S.-based VMLers are active members of the VML Foundation, contributing a minimum of $5 each pay period.

“Giving back has been part of VML’s DNA since the agency opened its doors in 1992,” said John Mulvihll, VML Foundation executive director. “The VML Foundation is the driving force behind the agency’s community outreach program. It enables VMLers to make a positive impact in the communities where VML operates through pro-bono services, volunteerism, financial support and community leadership.”

Members of the VML Foundation receive valuable benefits, including a Matching Gifts program (turning Foundation members’ $200 charitable donations into net $600 contributions through the $1 for $1 match), easy access to the Grant Request program which allows members to support organizations especially close to their hearts, and participation in the Community Contributor program recognizing community-minded VMLers with VML Foundation Giving Cards.

Additionally, all VMLers receive two paid days of community service time to volunteer individually or through group opportunities throughout the year, and the agency donates more than 20,000 hours of pro-bono services annually.

Each September, VML stages Worldwide Foundation Day, when the agency closes its doors for normal business and all VMLers around the globe head into the community to have the greatest impact in a single way.

VML Worldwide Foundation Day happens in Atlanta; Chicago; Cincinnati; Dallas; Kalamazoo, Michigan; Kansas City, Missouri; Memphis, Tennessee; Minneapolis; Nashville; New York; Rogers, Arkansas; Seattle; White Salmon, Washington; and many global offices – from London to Singapore – supporting an impressive array of nonprofit organizations and worthy causes. This year’s Foundation Day, on Thursday, Sept. 27, will see VMLers involved with more than 75 nonprofit organizations across the globe.
