Multiplatform Pro Carolyn Dubi Joins Industry Hot Shop
The media, marketing and digital company Initiative has hired the highly regarded and versatile print veteran Carolyn Dubi (nee Lassman) as SVP, Director, Print, the agency’s U.S. President Tim Spengler announced today.
“Carolyn has a distinct blend of experience and vision that makes her a fitting addition to the Initiative team,” Spengler said. “She loves print and has a track record that proves it works. She’s going to be a star for us.”
Dubi, 37, who will join the agency in its New York office on June 9, was previously VP, North America Planning Director for the Starcom MediaVest Group (SMV Group), leading the Samsung account. While there, she won plaudits for developing and nurturing a professional relationship between SMV Group and the electronics company, which has a history of primarily looking to its in-house marketing staff for leadership and guidance.
Dubi said she was excited to partner with Beth Fidoten, Initiative’s previous head of print, who will now report to Dubi and continue to play a vital role in the agency’s print buying negotiations and elsewhere.
“I look forward to carrying on the momentum that’s been built by Initiative through the print world, by ramping up our strategic thinking to dramatically increase number of integrated programs available to Initiative’s clients,” Dubi said. “There are so many ways to execute strategic marketing ideas and deliver results by starting with print but then lead into digital offshoots and a presence in the TV world.”
Prior to SMV Group, Dubi worked for several top advertising agencies, including Universal McCann, Media Edge, Ogilvy & Mather and Saatchi & Saatchi, for blue chip clients and brands including Procter & Gamble, Johnson & Johnson, Dr Pepper, 7 Up, Dannon and Post Cereals.
Initiative, which published reports cite as the hottest new business shop of 2008, has added over $1B in clients in the last six months, and hired more than 100 new employees.
