Mediaedge:cia scoops Ed Ling to become Global Solutions Managing Director

Mediaedge:cia (MEC), a leading media agency, has appointed Ed Ling as Managing Director for Global Solutions, the agency’s division of international media specialists.

Ling comes to MEC following his departure from AnalogFolk, the full-service digital agency established by Ling and five other founding partners in February 2008. As Managing Director for Global Solutions London, Ling will lead the agency’s multinational business team and drive strategic leadership across its global client base.

As Ling takes on this role in London he will lead a team of 100 specialists and apply his extensive digital and strategic heritage to MEC’s global clients, including Sony Ericsson, Novartis,  Paramount, Visa, Star Alliance, Colgate Palmolive, Accenture and Xerox, among others. This latest appointment follows the recent changes to MEC’s global management structure and Ling will report directly to Caroline Foster Kenny, MEC’s global Chief Client Officer.

MEC has more than 4,400 people working from 250 offices in 84 countries worldwide. Global Solutions harnesses the power of these network offices to deliver integrated communications and consistent service for multinational clients across the globe. MEC has twelve hub offices located in the same place as its global clients, namely Dubai, Düsseldorf, Hong Kong, Lausanne, London, Miami, Milan, New York, Paris, San Francisco, Singapore and Stockholm.

Ling was Vice-Chair of the IPA Digital Group and prior to founding AnalogFolk was Strategy Director at i-level, where he spent nine years.

Ed Ling, Managing Director, Global Solutions, said: “This is a phenomenal opportunity for me to apply my knowledge and experience across a world-class portfolio of brands on a global scale. I am looking forward to working with a team of specialists that are renowned for being among the most innovative and creative in the industry.”

Caroline Foster Kenny, Chief Client Officer, Global, adds: “At MEC we have evolved our approach to ensure that  digital and data is fully integrated throughout all areas of our business and runs through the veins of the work we deliver our clients. Ed’s appointment to lead Global Solutions in London is further evidence of the critical importance of digital expertise to our business. We are extremely pleased that he has joined us at this exciting time of change for MEC and the global media industry.” Visit Mediaedge:cia’s website.
