Charles Mason
CEO
Charlie started his advertising career with GEICO as an advertising manager. He then moved on to General Electric and later became an Account Supervisor with W.B. Doner in Baltimore. Charlie moved to Connecticut and purchased the firm that now bears his name. Over the years his insightful strategic thinking has helped grow nationally known brands such as Scandinavian Airlines, SAAB, Duracell, Beretta, Konica, Delphi Automotive and Yale New Haven Health.
For the American Association of Advertising Agencies, Charlie has served on the National Education Committee, the Agency Management Committee and is an active member of the Green Forum. His firm is also part of IMAGE, an international marketing group network.
In terms of public service, Charlie has served as Board Chair for the United Way of Connecticut and the United Way of Greater New Haven. He is also a Board Member and Vice Chair for the VNA of South Central Connecticut. He has also served on the Connecticut Advisory Council of Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic, and has advised L.E.A.P., Autism Spectrum Resource Center (ASRC), Clifford Beers Clinic and Liberty Community Services with respect to communication issues.
Charlie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from American University. He also attended Cornell University in their Chemical Engineering program and Johns Hopkins University in their Masters of Administrative Science program.

Stephen Hayes brings more than 30 years of experience in brand communications, with deep expertise in brand strategy, program planning, concept development, and customer research. His work is grounded in analysis and insight, helping organizations define and deliver clear, effective messaging.
Steve contributes to nearly every advertising account at the agency, providing strategic input across industries. His experience includes work with Yale New Haven Health, Avangrid, the Yale Center for Clinical Investigation, Sprague Energy, Delphi Automotive, Scandinavian Airlines, and others.
Derek Beere
Senior Vice President, Public Relations
Derek Beere is Senior Vice President of Public Relations at Mason, where he brings more than 20 years of experience helping organizations communicate clearly, manage reputations, and connect with the audiences who matter most. He specializes in media relations, crisis communications, brand strategy, and message development—building thoughtful, effective campaigns that deliver impactful results.
Derek has led award-winning initiatives for clients including Avangrid, Bruegger's Bagels, Subway Cares, Dunkin’, Odyssey Logistics, Black & Decker, State of Connecticut Department of Transportation and others. His work has helped clients gain national visibility and drive meaningful outcomes, with campaigns featured in outlets such as USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, NBC’s Today Show, CNN, and more. A board member of PRSA Greater Connecticut and a Disney Institute graduate, Derek is also a frequent speaker at industry events and universities throughout the region.

For over 15 years his passion and energy have been focused on developing innovative experiences as an award-winning, hands-on, accessible creative leader with strengths in copywriting, building and inspiring teams through collaboration, delivering “first-ever” thinking, and executing with a clear vision to exceed expectations.
Michael has helped diverse industries evolve how they connect with people and businesses by tapping into emotional truths. From pharma and healthcare, to information technology and entertainment, to automotive, energy, insurance and financial services, to name a few.
He has led the development and execution of global campaigns across a variety of platforms and formats.
