Peggy Nordeen
CEO
Peggy is the co-founder of Starmark, originally launching the company in Chicago in 1978. She helped re-launch the company in South Florida in 1998, and as of 2013, the company has been on the Inc. 500 list of fastest growing privately held companies seven times. Starmark’s creative work is consistently recognized as among the best in the industry, with the agency winning multiple ADDY Awards and Flagler Awards each year.
Peggy is known as an integrated marketing communications strategist, creative writer, speaker and author. Her column Competitive Edge appears regularly in the South Florida Business Journal. As Starmark CEO, she strives to connect the agency’s talented professionals with companies and organizations that have challenging marketing and public relations needs. Peggy specializes in travel and hospitality, technology, education, mature markets, government and health care.
Among her personal honors, Peggy was named South Florida Business Journal’s 2006 Business Woman of the Year/Entrepreneur of the Year. She was honored as a 2009 Diamond CEO Award recipient for her prowess as a business and a community leader. In 2011 she received the first Florida International University Corporate Responsibility Award. In 2013, Peggy was recognized as one of the top five Women-Led Businesses in Florida by the Commonwealth Institute of South Florida and PNC Bank.
Peggy currently serves as a board member and was the 2010 chairman of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance; she is an Advisory Board Member of A Child is Missing and a Board Member of the Broward Workshop, Nova Southeastern University Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship, The Tower Club, Business for the Arts in Broward, and the Broward Partnership for the Homeless.
Jacqui Hartnett
President
She is a multi-faceted executive who brings a wealth of professionalism, strategic capabilities and management expertise to Starmark. Jacqui manages the agency’s operations and leads the Business Development team. Her eye for detail as well as her management skills are valuable assets in planning and galvanizing success of client programs.
Prior to rejoining Starmark in 2005, Jacqui served as Executive Vice President and partner with GFX International in Chicago, an Inc. 500-ranked national retail graphics solutions company. She began her career as an account coordinator at Starmark Chicago, where, within two years of joining the agency, she became Director of Operations.
Brett Circe
Chief Interactive Officer
Brett strives to place Starmark’s big ideas in the larger context of the online world. With all aspects of business and branding now touching mobile, social and web, Brett ensures that client strategies and tactics integrate seamlessly in the digital realm, in real time. Brett helps maximize the effectiveness of big ideas to achieve client goals and objectives. He investigates online opportunities in every advertising and marketing program.
Brett is an acclaimed Internet pioneer who won his first e-commerce website award from Yahoo in 1995. He has served as president of two technology companies, TKOnet and OmniPilot Software. Brett was the recipient of the 2006 South Florida Business Journal Up & Comers Award in the category of Advertising and PR. Brett’s latest invention is the patent-pending FanWise social reward technology that pioneers the merchandizing of social media updates. With his finger on the pulse of the latest technologies, Brett is a frequent speaker on topics such as social marketing and mobile commerce. His specialties include emerging online media, web-based software planning and architecture, and advertising and marketing ROI and effectiveness tracking.
Brett has earned a Certificate in Advanced Mobile Marketing from the University of San Francisco, and holds a BFA in graphic design from the Ringling College of Art and Design.
Dale Baron
VP Creative Director
Dale is the creative dynamo behind Starmark’s integrated consumer and business-to-business programs. Using digital, broadcast, social media, print, direct mail and out of home, Dale has been instrumental in developing some of the agency’s most successful campaign work. He helps cultivate the vision, voice and identity of each brand, and has served as creative director for clients such as Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Port Everglades, MSC Cruises, and SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment.
Dale is known for breakthrough ideas, and his work is behind an impressive list of industry accolades, including ADDY Awards, Flagler Awards, Webby Awards and Magellan Awards. Dale also leads and inspires Starmark’s group of talented employees, providing conceptual and creative guidance to his team.
Prior to joining Starmark, Dale was creative director at J. Walter Thompson, where he oversaw creative work clients including America Online, AARP, and Classic Residences by Hyatt. He served previously as art director at TMP Worldwide.
Dale is a Florida native, with an A.A. from International Fine Arts College and a B.S. in Advertising from Florida International University. He is a partner at Starmark.
