Fred Conover
President
Fred is founder of CTP and actively manages all aspects of the agency. For the last 16 years, Fred has been leading CTP's development of smart, effective campaigns for a variety of clients across a wide range of industries. Prior to founding CTP, Fred was an account director at several Boston-area agencies including Cosmopulos, Crowley and Daly.
Fred is a member of the Ad Club and the Publicity Club of New England. Under his leadership, CTP has won an Ad Age Buzz Award, several Ad Club Hatch awards for excellence in advertising and numerous Publicity Club Bell Ringer awards for excellence in public relations.
Grant Pace
Executive Creative Director
Grant has created award-winning work at leading agencies nationwide, and now oversees all creative work at CTP. Grant’s name became the third on our door when CTP acquired his agency, Mercury Advertising. His tourism experience includes several years crafting campaigns for the Wrightsville Beach Tourism account in North Carolina.
It was many years ago at DMBB that he penned the original Bud Bowl for Anheuser-Busch. The success of that campaign brought Grant to Backer Spielvogel Bates in New York, where he lent his skills to such brands as Miller Lite, Miller Genuine Draft, Starburst and others. Grant then joined McKinney Silver, where his work for Audi helped the brand overcome years of bad PR, with the launch of the A4, A6, and A8. His work for SmartBeep became a cult hit on the Internet, and is routinely featured on the Funniest Commercials Ever Made network specials. Grant has also led creative efforts for Hanes, ESPN, Taco Bell and Conagra foods.
Mark Bappe
SVP, Creative Director
Mark got his start at Boston agency Houston Effler, now a part of Arnold Worldwide. He has worked in various markets, including Richmond, Raleigh and San Francisco, at agencies including Foote Cone Belding, TBWA/ Chiat Day and The Martin Agency. His other Boston agency experience includes work with Wallwork Curry and Connelly Partners/CGN.
Mark’s work in print and broadcast has earned him accolades in Graphic Design USA, HOW magazine, Print, Communication Arts and Hatch. His past client experience includes Children’s Hospital, Mass Office of Travel and Tourism, Steinway & Sons, Shaw’s, Polaroid, TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, and Stonyfield Farm.
Brian Heffron
EVP/Partner
As agency partner in charge of CTP's award-winning PR department, Brian has developed strategy and overseen implementation of earned media, social media and events for clients in technology, healthcare, science and sports. Before joining CTP as employee number three, Brian served as Director of Communications for the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office. Before the AG’s office, Brian handled media relations for Northeastern University and was a reporter for daily newspapers in Massachusetts and New York.
Steve Angel
VP, Director of Strategic Growth
Steve develops and nurtures the relationships linking CTP’s talents to new and prospective clients, devising initial communications strategy and tactical recommendations and identifying appropriate agency resources for each account. He has been creating and implementing marketing programs on both the client and the agency side for more than 15 years.
Steve came to CTP from RDW Group, where he served in a similar capacity, working with clients including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Dunkin’ Donuts and Kopin Semiconductor. Before joining RDW Group, Steve served as Account Director at Butler, Shine & Stern Advertising in San Francisco. At BSS, he supervised trade and consumer accounts, implementing national brand advertising campaigns for clients including Nuance Communications, Midway Games and Discreet Software.
