Honda debuted a new video series, “Future Women in STEAM,” on International Women’s Day (Tuesday, March 8) across the brand’s social media channels to inspire the next generation of women who are passionate about pursuing a career in the fields of science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM).

The Honda “Future Women in STEAM” social series will run throughout Women’s History Month and features Melanie Morimoto, a senior fabrication modeler technician at American Honda with 30-years of experience working in the automotive field with a STEAM focus. Throughout the series, Melanie is featured answering questions from the young women of the PAST Foundation – a non-profit organization focused on developing innovative educational opportunities across the nation. Women have often been highlighted less than their male counterparts in the STEAM industry, and subsequently, young girls don’t see enough female role models they can aspire to be. Through the social series, Honda wants to help empower these passionate young women to pursue their dreams of working and succeeding in STEAM-related fields.

  • Honda’s “Future Women in STEAM” was created by female directors including, Tamara Rosenfeld, director of ContagiousLA, a woman- and minority-owned company.
  • In addition to the social video series debuting on Honda YouTube and LinkedIn, the campaign will feature cut-down videos, along with images of inspirational quotes from Melanie Morimoto shared across Honda Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat and TikTok throughout Women’s History Month.
