Top Southeast marketing firm announces new leadership and shareholders

Mobile, Ala. — Lewis, a full-service marketing performance company, is proud to name the first female CEO in the firm’s four decades of leadership. Ellen Praytor Faulkner, who previously served as senior vice president and managing director, takes the reins as CEO. Her appointment represents a milestone in the firm’s history, and in corporate America where less than 10% of CEOs of large private companies are female.

Faulkner succeeds former long-time CEO and owner Larry Norris, who will remain as chairman and strategic advisor. During his tenure, Norris led Lewis’ expansion from Mobile, Ala. to Birmingham, Ala. and to Nashville, Tenn. He grew the firm to 130 associates who manage over $100 million in marketing investments annually. Norris credits the firm’s success to its people, culture and partnership mindset. “I’ve been fortunate to spend my entire career with Lewis,” says Norris, “and I couldn’t be more proud of our team and the growth they’ve achieved for our clients and Lewis. But with growth and opportunity, comes change.”

As one of Lewis’ long-time managers, Faulkner has shaped the firm’s business culture and made a powerful impact. Her leadership style nurtures an environment that’s both fun and rewarding for team members. Born and raised in Mobile, Faulkner began her career at Lewis more than 32 years ago in account service. She quickly rose up the ranks and served as senior vice president and managing director of the Mobile office for more than 20 years.

“I’m profoundly honored to be named CEO,” Faulkner says. “Collectively, our shareholders represent over 185 years of experience at Lewis. We are a strong team, and we are fully committed to expanding the legacy and success of our firm and clients.”
