Industry veteran Jon Krevolin joined Artists&Outlaws on Dec. 11 as the Nashville-based agency’s first-ever chief creative director. Krevolin reports directly to President/CEO Shari Day and joins Artists&Outlaws’ executive leadership team.
Krevolin’s appointment in the newly created position is Day’s latest move since rebranding the 36-year-old agency (formerly bohan) in October.
“As Artists&Outlaws begins this next chapter, Jon will join me at the senior executive level in guiding the agency’s creative growth strategy,” Day said. “Jon is aligned with our agency’s values and shares our bold commitment to seek new opportunities to showcase our work through elevated creativity, design and technology. He has the experience, vision and proven track record that uniquely qualify him to lead this effort alongside our team and me.”
Krevolin was most recently executive creative director at Zimmerman after spending seven years in the same role at Doner, building digital capabilities and leading McDonald’s, The UPS Store, Cox and Bloomberg. Previously he had leadership positions at R/GA, 360i and BBDO, where he led the Gillette (P&G)’s global account, earning the brand it first Cannes Lion and One Show Pencil. At J Walter Thompson, Krevolin also won and led the Domino’s business, transforming the brand into the nation’s leading pizza delivery company while also earning an Emmy nomination. He won his first Cannes Lion for Pepsi in an earlier stint at BBDO. The Yale University graduate’s brand experience also includes Kraft, Miller Beer, Coca-Cola, Lipton Brisk, NFL, 7-Eleven, and Verizon.
“Our industry is built on creativity, community and culture, and Artists&Outlaws understands that foundational construct,” Krevolin said. “My experience with a myriad of successful brands across all industries brings a fresh perspective and fresh eyes to all aspects of Artists&Outlaws’ work. With the emergence of new technologies, it’s a pivotal time for change in our industry, especially for independent agencies. I look forward to deepening the agency’s connection to our existing clients while also leading our creative strategy across all platforms to acquire new ones.”
In tandem with the agency’s recent rebrand, Day identified talent acquisition as an immediate focus. Angie Roby, most recently with Dentsu International, joined Artists&Outlaws in October as group account director. Roby’s resume includes work with T-Mobile, Chevron, Carter’s and other global brands.
