Jonathan Cooper Joins Pavone Marketing Group As Communication Director

Pavone Marketing Group, an integrated marketing and communications group with agencies specializing in food & beverage marketing, senior & retirement living, and marketing research & innovation, has named Jonathan Cooper to lead communication strategies.

“What we see in Jonathan is an understanding of the convergence of content – and we know our clients will benefit from that thinking and leadership,” said Michael Pavone, president and CEO of Pavone Marketing Group. “Jonathan focuses on how consumers engage with brands – including when, where and how they share and shop – and that will allow us to continue to build customized, innovating solutions to meet our clients’ marketing challenges.”

Most recently, Cooper was SVP/Director of Content for LevLane, where he led the company’s integrated content strategy for the past three years and worked across the agency’s Life Sciences, CPG, Senior Living and Government groups.

Cooper, a journalist-turned-marketer, will lead Pavone Media Group’s communications planning team—which includes public relations, media and social media strategy—for Pavone and its partner agencies quench and Varsity. Cooper joins Pavone with more than 20 years of media experience – including a particular focus on digital transformation and experience in digital content creation, consumption, audience generation and acquisition, and monetization.

“Clients expect us to be more than a marketing partner. We are expected to anticipate their needs and to help them find new channels to reach consumers. We know the consumer journey is no longer linear, and we know the point of purchase is no longer occurring solely in the store,” says Cooper. “It is exciting to have brand partners who are looking to collaborate to find the answers that may go beyond traditional media and marketing solutions.”

Cooper previously served as VP-Communications for Digital First Media, where he played a key role in the digital transformation and revenue growth of the $1.2 billion national news media organization. In addition, Cooper has taught digital journalism courses at Quinnipiac University, was named a Leadership Fellow for the Knight Digital Media Center and served as a member of the WAN-IFRA UK Press Freedom Fact-Finding Tour.

He will be based out of the Philadelphia office and report to President/CEO Michael Pavone.
