Deloitte’s Summer Travel Survey finds that economic uncertainty is impacting summer travel this year. Travelers are decreasing travel spend, but many will take more trips, shorter in length.
Key findings:
- Trips are more quick getaways, with the majority planned for 3 or fewer nights
- Flights are being cut back in favor of road trips
- Fewer travelers will stay at destination resorts
- Activities will lean toward the free variety.
The report identifies differences in planning and spending among income levels, finding even those with higher incomes are more price sensitive.
