Survey Highlights

This year’s compensation study provides 4As member agencies with reliable and statistically relevant salaries comparable by market. Gain insights into compensation trends across the industry, with data broken down by size, region, department and positions. Access the survey to explore benchmarks that help guide competitive pay strategies.

The study reflects the responses of 399 agency offices from 203 agencies and provides data on approximately 30,000 salaries for 309 job titles across 26 departments. Of total respondents, 202 are network agency members representing 51% and 197 are independent agencies representing 49%. To better reflect the current marketplace, we added 38 new job titles, deleted five job titles, and updated/reclassified another 5 job titles.

The trending page (only in the digital dashboard) includes three years of year-over-year (YOY) comparisons of average salaries by role across 2022-2024 and a toggle feature for interquartile averages. Also included is a department and position trending page which compares 2023 versus 2024 departments and positions.

Please note the study reports information on base salaries and does not include contributions to pension or profit-sharing plans, bonuses, gifts, or other special compensation. Salary data, paid to employees, was reported on an annual basis as of June 30, 2024. Responses were collected from 4As members between September and October of 2024. All 4As member agencies were invited to participate in the survey.

Ordering Information

The 4As 2024 Employee Compensation Survey Report is available for purchase to 4As members only. This report is not available to non-members. Those 4As members that participated in the study will receive a complimentary copy of the report. The cost for 4As members that did not participate in the study is $675 for the PDF report and $850 for the PDF Report + Digital Dashboard.

Please note that access to the report is limited to senior agency roles in human resources, finance and agency Chief Executive Officers and Presidents.
