Survey Highlights

The 2025 4As Employee Compensation Study provides a well-rounded view of salaries paid to employees at 4As member agencies across all sizes, markets, and disciplines. Designed to support informed workforce planning and compensation strategy, the study delivers statistically meaningful benchmarks by role, department, market, and agency type.

Data was collected between October and December 2025, with salaries reported on an annualized basis as of August 31, 2025. Participation was open to all 4As member agencies.

The study reflects the responses of 371 agency offices from 183 agencies and provides data on approximately 26,100 salaries for 317 job titles (from a possible 327) across 26 departments. Of total respondents, 180 are Holding Companies (Private and Public) representing 48% of total respondents, 191 respondents (52%) are independent agencies (including PE backed).

To better reflect the current marketplace, we added 18 new job titles and deleted thirteen job titles no longer used.
The trending page (only in the digital dashboard) includes three years of year-over-year (YOY) comparisons of average salaries by role across 2023-2025 and a toggle feature for, region, size and interquartile averages. Also included is a department and position trending page which compares 2024 versus 2025 departments and positions.
Please note the study reports information on base salaries and does not include contributions to pension or profit-sharing plans, bonuses, or other non-salary compensation components.

Ordering Information

The 4As 2025 Employee Compensation Survey Report is available for purchase to 4As members only. This report is not available to non-members. Those 4As members that participated in the study will have received a complimentary copy of the report. The cost for 4As members that did not participate in the study is $725 for the PDF report and $899 for the PDF Report + Digital Dashboard.

Please note that access to the report is limited to senior agency roles in human resources, finance and agency Chief Executive Officers and Presidents.
