R/GA Teams Up with Nike and Apple to Run the Fitness World

Quality content must be useful, entertaining and/or beautiful. At least that’s what Bob Greenberg of Robert Greenberg & Associates (R/GA) once said. And with the creation of the game changing Nike+, R/GA achieved all of these things, particularly the first two.

In 2006, Nike came to R/GA with a simple request: Pair up with Apple to create a next-level fitness program. And Nike+ was born. The tech-ready Nike shoes would digitally sync with the iPod nano, which in turn would sync with an online brand platform for that gave runners a place to record, track and share running data.

A system that leverages the athletic legacy of the sports brand and the technological and design mastery of the iPod to broaden both the solo and interactive experience of the sport of running.
