Event Abstract
The US healthcare system is gradually moving to a consumer centered model – where each individual holds financial and health risks for themselves and their families. In contrast, transparency, reliable factual information, and accessibility of the system is narrowing, making it harder for consumers to navigate and act as effective stewards of their health. The 4As Health Summit will look at the changes needed to support an appropriate model to enable consumer centric healthcare.

Background
With rising demand driven by an aging population, chronic disease management and wellness trends, healthcare marketing continues to present significant opportunity for agency growth. Healthcare is one of the most complex and heavily regulated industries – and one of the most lucrative – with a broader transformation happening across the U.S. healthcare system.
In 2025, U.S. healthcare spending reached $5.6 trillion, accounting for 18.5 percent of GDP. At the same time, agencies are navigating evolving regulatory expectations, including increased scrutiny of direct-to-consumer and healthcare provider prescription drug advertising, as well as increased focus on data privacy and AI in healthcare marketing. While health clients are pressing agencies for more innovative and creative campaigns, they are tending to be more risk-adverse in this complex, shifting ecosystem.
Healthcare marketing is also facing a generational and consumer-driven inflection point with the advent on AI and evolving distribution channels. Recent research highlights the urgency of that shift, with just 57% of Gen Z reporting trust in primary care physicians, compared to 85% of Boomers. Against this backdrop, healthcare communications are playing an increasingly critical role in helping people make informed decisions with greater confidence, understanding and trust.
The US healthcare system is gradually moving to a consumer centered model – where each individual holds financial and health risk for themselves and their families. In contrast transparency, reliable factual information, and accessibility of the system is narrowing making it harder for consumers to navigate and act as effective stewards of their health. The 4As Health Summit will look at the changes needed to support an appropriate model to enable consumer centric healthcare and how AI is shaping how consumers obtain health information.
Yet for agencies unfamiliar with the terrain, breaking in can be daunting. And for agencies already in the space, the challenges, complexities and risks continue to evolve alongside the opportunity.
The 4As Health Marketing Summit is an opportunity to gain a better understanding of this shifting landscape and learn to unlock its potential with informed clarity and confidence.
