Bozell’s Verizon ‘Test Man’ Asks, ‘Can You Hear Me Now?’

Before he “switched to Sprint,” Paul Marcarelli spent a decade with Verizon as their “test man”, starring in a series of commercials created by Omaha-based agency Bozell.

The ads showed off the superiority of Verizon’s network coverage and reliability, playing up Marcarelli’s side of a seemingly endless phone conversation panning over many different locations across the U.S. The “Can you hear me now? Good!” line was as memorable as it was relatable, making the ads an instant success.
