The Institute for Responsible Influence announced the Responsible Influence Certification Program on Monday.

Content creators vying for brands’ trust can now complete a 90-minute, TikTok-backed course for a badge confirming training in FTC guidelines and advertising industry standards.

The course, dubbed the Responsible Influence Certification Program, is the latest creator education course launched by the Institute for Responsible Influence (IRI). IRI was founded in January by BBB National Programs’ nonprofit, The Center for Industry Self-Regulation.

“The creator economy is one of the most powerful forces in modern marketing, shaping consumer decisions, driving brand growth and influencing culture,” IRI’s program development manager Jennifer Santos said. “With that level of influence, responsible practices are essential.”

IRI convened an advisory board to create the course, including TikTok, the American Association of Advertising Agencies (4As), the Association of National Advertisers (ANA), American Advertising Federation (AAF), Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), Independent Beauty Association (IBA) and the the Creators Guild of America (CGA).

Creator agencies including Billion Dollar Boy, Linquia and #paid supported IRI’s creation of the program; along with brands such as Harry’s and Coterie.
