The Danger of Algorithm
Normalization

AI changes the work at every level of the org chart. The first thing to break is the path that turns junior people into leaders. The paradox is that learning requires effort, and it is tempting to use AI to remove it.

Some would say the grunt work was how we all built the skills needed to advance. But was it? Really? Or was it the feedback loop and the experience of walking through the work with managers, the C-suite and ultimately the clients?

What used to happen organically has to be built intentionally today. Seeking and receiving feedback from senior leaders and clients helps develop judgment in emerging professionals while rebuilding the C-suite access agencies have quietly lost.

The agencies that get this right will build AI fluency at every level, coach teams to use AI as an interrogator rather than a ghostwriter, and create opportunities for learning by practice even as AI automates the work.

  • “AI can handle the mechanics, but agencies must safeguard the mastery. Protect the learning outcome, not the legacy task, because an automated entry level builds no future leaders."
