3M Mask Campaign Lets People Enjoy Everyday Moments

3M has played a critical role in supplying personal protective equipment throughout the pandemic and it continues to innovate to meet evolving consumer needs, including the launch of the new 3M Advanced Filtering Face Mask.

Colle McVoy created a campaign to support the launch that leveraged people’s desire to do more activities like travel while also helping them feel comfortable knowing this product could help reduce exposure to airborne particulates in those everyday moments.

The centerpiece of the campaign is a charming animated video that illustrates the many product features through the story of one father trying to retrieve a beloved balloon for his daughter. As he chases the balloon throughout a city wearing the product, he’s reducing his exposure to many particulates like airborne pollen, pet dander, dirt and environmental air pollution. The video will run alongside custom online Travel + Leisure content, as well as on digital signage in New York City.

In the U.S., the 3M Advanced Filtering Face Mask is a lightweight and disposable barrier face covering with filter media that filters at least 95% of airborne particulates. It allows for comfortable easy breathing for many activities, especially travel. So, as the travel industry began its rebound, we partnered on the campaign with the leader in travel inspiration, Travel + Leisure, that welcomed consumers back to travel in its 50th anniversary issue.

Other campaign elements that continue to rollout this month and throughout October include print ads that demonstrate how the product helps reduce exposure to a number of airborne particulates in everyday moments and an advertorial providing information on destinations travelers missed most during the pandemic.
