The mission of this workshop is to teach women (and men) everything they need to learn at the poker table to be successful and competitive at the conference table.

It is not about gambling. It’s about building confidence, learning to read people, becoming a better negotiator and being assertive and bold at the right time.

PokerDivas teaches players to play to win as opposed to avoid losing. They are not just hearing the message, “be bold, be assertive”, they are actually physically experiencing what that feels like when they play. It is also a lot of fun. No poker experience is required.

Workshop Structure:

The group is assembled around tables of 8-10 people. The keynote speaker will take the group through the key elements of poker strategy as it relates to professional and personal development. Each table will have a dealer/instructor who provides hands on-training while the keynote speaker reviews the hands, basic strategy and the fundamentals of play. During the instruction there is continued discussion and exercises illustrating how playing poker enhances business and negotiating skills.

Guests will then take the poker personality quiz which determines their playing style both at the poker table and the conference table. There will be discussion on the four personality types followed by a review of the importance of identifying personality and motivation prior to a negotiation.

Practice hands will be played to get everyone comfortable playing and allow practice for reading “tells” – non-verbal cues.

We will then have a tournament so people can put what they learn into practice. Everyone will begin with the same amount of chips and at the end of the tournament the top chip holders will be designated the winners.

The program is concluded with an awards ceremony including trophies for the top winners.
