4A’s CEO Nancy Hill Receives NABOB National Service Award

New York, NY – October 4, 2013 – The National Association of Black-Owned Broadcasters (NABOB) has recognized 4A’s President and CEO Nancy Hill with its annual National Service award for her advocacy of and commitment to best practices in non-discrimination policies for vendors.

The award was presented October 3 in Washington, D.C., during NABOB’s 13th Annual Power of Urban Radio Forum. Hill, who was tapped in 2008 as the first woman to lead the 97-year-old trade association representing the ad-marketing industry, was a pivotal partner in working with the minority media community. The 4A’s Media Policy Committee adopted and urged its members to implement the 4A’s Non Discrimination Policy and Complaint Review Process a year ago.

The Media Policy Committee, now called the Media Leadership Council, in its role of providing guidance to its members and the advertising community, recommended standardized best practices in non-discrimination vendor policies and procedures. The policy framework also includes consideration of a vendor complaint review process.

Sherman K. Kizart, Managing Director of Kizart Media Partners, who works closely with NABOB and owns the Power of Urban Radio Forum, said, “As CEO of the 4A’s, Nancy Hill’s commitment to creating equal opportunity in the advertising and media world is helping to open more doors for minority- owned and targeted media platforms.

“It is an honor to receive the award,” Hill said. “The 4A’s and its member agencies will continue to work tirelessly to support inclusive and fair practices for all vendors. It’s just good sense and good business.”
