4A’s 2022 Salary Survey

The 4A’s 2022 Employee Compensation Survey Report (a.k.a. Salary Survey) has been released.

The intent of our 2022 Employee Compensation Survey Report (a.k.a. Salary Survey) is to provide the industry with reliable and statistically relevant salary comparables by market.  The study provides information on salaries paid to employees in all size member agencies. Salary data was collected between July and September of 2022 for those salaries (not including contributions to pension or profit-sharing plans, bonuses, gifts, or other special compensation) recorded on an annual basis as of May 31, 2022.  All 4A’s member agencies were invited to participate in the survey.

The study reflects the responses of 368 agency offices and provides data on over 31,000 salaries for 279 job titles across 26 departments. Two hundred respondents are network agency members representing 54% of total respondents and 168 respondents are independent agencies representing 46% of total respondents.  New to the Dashboard in 2022 is trending salary information by title and a small sample of remote worker information for the US.  The remote worker analysis includes state and region views where remote workers are concentrated, average salaries for those remote workers and comparisons of remote salaries vs local salaries within those specific regions.

Survey data has been made available in both a PDF report format as well as an interactive Digital Dashboard. The remote worker analysis can be found exclusively in the Digital Dashboard. The report is in three sections with the data broken down (1) by size of agency by number of employees and (2) by geographic location. Section 3 includes, for reference, the list of standardized job titles in the study, other possible job titles that agencies may use for the same position, and the job descriptions.
